Community Involvement
We believe that community involvement provides a good opportunity to expose
our local community to the Chinese culture. Since the inception of the
school, the Folk Dance team has been invited to numerous international
cultural events to share the artistic aspects of Chinese heritage with
elementary, middle and high schools throughout Central Florida. Our Folk
Dance and Kung-Fu teams are regularly invited to perform at the World Trade
Exhibition at Orlando City Hall, the annual Orlando Chinese Culture
Celebration Parade, and the Chinese New Year celebration of CAACF. Our Youth
Orchestra, which started in 2004, has been invited to perform Chinese pieces
at local Chinese New Year Celebrations and other Asian/Chinese American
functions. Our string ensembles were also invited to perform Chinese music
at local nursing homes.
The School is a member organization of the Asian
American Heritage Council (AAHC) and regularly participates in its
activities.
