Disciplinary Action
Discipline is the positive direction of behavior toward established standards of conduct, focusing on personal safety and respect for the rights and property of others. The school and the parents share the responsibility for helping the student develop self-discipline. If self-discipline fails, disciplinary action must be imposed to protect the student and to ensure the rights of others.
Discipline is most effective when it deals directly with a problem at the time and place it occurs. Therefore, before seeking outside assistance, teachers and school personnel will first use their best efforts to create a change of behavior in the school.
As a general rule, discipline will be progressive. This means that a student’s first violation will usually merit a lighter penalty. Teachers or school personnel who are unable to change the students inappropriate behavior are expected to report the student to the principal. The Principal and/or Board will decide what further disciplinary action will occur up to expelling the student from Chinese School of CAACF.
Student Dress Code
All students are expected to give proper attention to personal cleanliness and to dress appropriately for school and school functions. Students and their parents have the primary responsibility for acceptable student dress and appearance. Teachers and school personnel will reinforce acceptable student dress and help students develop an understanding of appropriate appearance in the school setting. Students that are found to be dressed inappropriately will be taken to the principal for appropriate action.
Students are to wear a Chinese School of CAACF Student Shirt. Shirts can be purchased during enrollment and throughout the year. See appropriate School personnel to purchase your student shirt. No skirts are to be worn if the student attends dance or karate classes. Skirts must be at a minimum knee length.
